Siskiyou County is located in Northern California
adjacent to the State of Oregon. It is bordered by Del
Norte, Humboldt and Trinity Counties on the west and southwest, by
Shasta County to the south and Modoc County to the east. The
6,281 square miles of area make Siskiyou County the fifth largest
county in the state.
Interstate 5 runs through the center of the County,
providing market gateways to the Pacific Northwest, Nevada and
California. Additionally, US-97, originating in the City of
Weed, carries significant over-the-road truck traffic between Oregon
and California. Union Pacific is the principal rail provider
through the County. Commercial air service is available at the
cities of Klamath Falls, Medford, and Redding. Pacific Bell
serves the I-5 corridor with telephone services. PacifiCorp is
the power provider serving the County.
